Urban places
Urban places are public places. They are more than spaces. A space is a physical thing: it has dimensions and is occupied by objects, infrastructure and facilities. People turn spaces into places. They connect to that space and bring life to it. Places are mostly public not private.
Urban places can be city squares, parks, streets and laneways. They can even be private spaces like shopping centres. The defining idea of these shots is that the place and the person or people work together to tell a story. These are not portraits.
